Bali Self-Discovery Retreat for Women 2025
Saturday 12 – Sunday 19 July | with Natalie Snooke
My rejuvenating, transformational eight-day women’s retreat, in the tranquil hills of Ubud, offers you a journey to rediscover who you are and to upskill in living life from the fullness of your authenticity, courage and love.
- Embody the deeper benefits of an integrated, daily yoga and meditation practice, led by a dedicated senior teacher.
- Experience the rich Balinese Hindu spirituality and culture, and the simplicity of village life.
- Enliven your growth through sacred circles and facilitated group coaching sessions using the wisdom of the Enneagram.
- Feel nourished by quiet time, organic body treatments and delicious wholefoods.
My women’s Bali retreat is more than just a yoga retreat in a beautiful setting. It is a unique opportunity to be held in a transformational space and shift inwardly ‘from the head to the heart’, igniting your inner knowing – both during and beyond the retreat.
“I felt very privileged to have been part of Natalie’s Bali Retreat. And the experience is life changing, I feel I learned so much in such a short time. It’s hard to put a value onto this experience. I feel with Natalie’s guidance we all learned about the deeper meaning of our being. My experience has been truly amazing, thank you.” ~ Sabine
Our Retreat Home in Ubud
Bali is called the Island of the Gods, recognised internationally for her healing energy and vibrant Hindu culture. Magic truly happens here. Yet many-a-tourist to Bali misses her subtle and sacred essence.
When I facilitate retreats, I love to create a ‘home away from home’ experience. One where we can develop a connection with the land, people and culture. And where we can be at ease and our hearts can breathe a sigh of relief.
Our retreat home and activities are based in the villages of Campuhan and Penestanan about 20 minutes walk from Ubud’s centre. I’ve stayed in these villages many times.
The Campuhan river valley, where two rivers meet, has long been a place for meditation, known for its magical power and plant medicines. It is also home to one of the biggest and most beautiful Hindu temples in Bali, with colourful ceremonies and street parades.
Penestanan is the hilltop artists village, with private lush alleyways to explore that weave between rivers and rice field terraces, still with farmers working on the land.
We will share in Balinese devotion, learning from the local women how to make daily offerings with flowers and incense. And a highlight of our program includes a visit to a Balinese water temple for a traditional Hindu purification ceremony.
“The Bali Retreat was so special! It was a wonderful space just for myself, to reconnect with my true being once all the layers were stripped back. I am very much looking forward to another retreat. ” ~ Allanna
Retreat Accommodation and Meals
We stay at the beautiful Ananda Cottages Resort, an established retreat centre that has been a refuge place for yogis for over 30 years. Ananda is Sanskrit for ‘bliss’. And this will be my fourth group visit to Ananda.
Ananda’s property features three swimming pools and Balinese bungalows set in natural beauty amongst lush, tropical, butterfly-laden gardens and rice fields.
Each bungalow has an outdoor bathroom with a bath tub, plus a private veranda space for relaxing. There is air conditioning and ceiling fans. And beds are fitted with mosquito nets.
The lovely, quiet surrounds induce a deep sleep and allow you to wake-up to the sounds of nature, feeling rested and refreshed.
“The Bali Retreat was excellent, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The water temple cleansing ritual was amazing! The reflection sessions really made me look inside myself and open up, they helped bring everyone out of their comfort zones and brought the group together. ” ~ Wendy
You will enjoy delicious buffet brunches – with Balinese, western, vegetarian and vegan options – all lovingly prepared inhouse with fresh, local, seasonal produce.
Brunch is a substantial meal and most women find that it lasts them for most of the day, especially in the warm weather. Other day time eating is kept flexible and up to you – so you can explore the abundance of cafes and restaurants, all within close walking distance of Ananda, at your leisure.
We will share in special welcome and farewell group dinners. And other nights there’s the option to eat alone or with the group, as you choose.
Our yoga shala (studio) is a beautiful venue! It’s a spacious, open-aired pavilion, overlooking ponds with water lilies and lush green rice fields, for as far as the eye can see. You’ll need to bring your own yoga mat. Other yoga gear like bolsters, blocks and straps is provided.
“I loved the Bali Retreat. It went far beyond yoga – it touched on many, many aspects of my life. The afternoon workshops were tremendously helpful in understanding and integrating the uses and benefits of our yoga, meditation and pranayama practices. I will continue at home! ~ Cheryl
Self-Discovery On and Off the Yoga Mat
Everything offered on the retreat is invitational. So this means you are invited to participate as fully as you can, without expectation or judgment. You are encouraged to prioritise your self-care. And to have personal quiet time and rest, as much as you need to.
Our schedule is a gently-paced blend of group practice, personal free time, cultural activities and group coaching sessions. You’ll have plenty of time to relax by the pool or to take a stroll.
Soon after sunrise, each day begins with a fully-guided yoga and meditation practice. This includes mantras, meditation, kriyas (cleansing practices) and pranayama (breathwork) for deeper integration. The yoga asana (postures) are a slow-flow vinyasa style, progressing from simpler to more complex postures, always with options for students with varying physical capacities.
Most days will include a sacred circle or group coaching session. Many women say this is their favourite part of the retreat. These sessions are a beautiful opportunity for sharing, caring and building trust amongst the group. We will base our learning and growth on the Enneagram, diving beyond thoughts, feelings and behaviour habits to find our greater truths. And we will also get creative!
My intention is that you will leave the retreat with a clear understanding of yourself, of what matters most to you and some action steps to take that will help you to integrate your learning and self-discoveries, when you get home.
Is this retreat for you?
My Bali retreats are attended by women of all ages. This retreat is ideal if you:
- Are a yoga or meditation practitioner and enjoy your practice for its health and spiritual benefits, but don’t need to become a posture champion!
- Find yourself at a crossroads, are celebrating a milestone or entering a new phase in life and you feel ready for more ‘being’ and deeper inner growth;
- Feel curious to learn about Bali’s culture, spirituality and what makes it such a powerful place for healing;
- Are emotionally mature and are happy to connect with a group of like-minded women; and
- Have a good level of physical fitness and enjoy walking.
If you are new to yoga or meditation, yet have been on a healing journey through other mind-body-spirit modalities, this retreat offers you steady guidance and instructions to begin a practice.
And if you are an experienced yoga or meditation practitioner, trainee or teacher, then this retreat offers you a balance of inspiration, structure and support to go deeper within.
Your Retreat Facilitator – More About Natalie
As a yoga student, I was first led to Ubud for a retreat at Ananda in 2005. Practising yoga in Bali was life-changing for me. It led to a deepening of inner peace and began a love affair with Balinese people and their spirituality – and the slower, gentler way-of-life. This will be my fourth led group to Bali and I’ve stopped counting how many times I’ve travelled to Ubud!
The Dharma is my calling and I’ve been teaching both yoga and meditation since 2007. Whilst I enjoy the physical aspects of yogic practice, my real passion is sharing yoga’s depth of timeless teachings as a method for self-enquiry and transformation.
On retreat, you receive the very best of all that I have to offer. Through my coaching and Enneagram facilitation, there is the possibility to understand the deeper motivations that drive your character. As well as how to powerfully overcome your self-sabotage patterns, how to integrate being “in-the-world-but-not-of-the-world” and to realise your potential. My desire is for you to flourish and shine, in your own unique way.
“Natalie’s knowledge and application on the Bali Retreat is one of the highest (and best) I have ever experienced. This enabled me to completely trust her and extend myself, knowing I would be supported.” ~ Kara
